Greetings again everyone!
Thanks to efforts from a number of folks here at Team Cymru, the BGP
synchronization and monitoring processes for the DDoS-RS are back up and
running. The BGP feed now again directly reflects the same routes shown
in the ddos-rsv2.txt file.
We again apologize for the inconvenience caused by this outage. As you
know, we work very hard to ensure that these free services provided to
the community have maximum uptime, but unfortunately, real life and the
fallibility of hardware sometimes intervene. In this case, a RAID array
failed under what should have been normal operating conditions due to a
firmware bug. We are of course carefully analyzing the circumstances
which led up to this problem to identify any actions we can take
differently in the future to avoid any recurrence.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or donations of coffee
for those involved in getting this fixed, please feel free to contact us
at team-cymru at cymru.com. Thanks as always for your support!
Regards,
Tim
