[nsp-sec] dns issues?

this came up elsewhere, I wondered if the actual problem was a lowered 
capacity in socal for TWTC... or something along those lines (X of Y 
servers behind loadbalancers out for repair)

There wasn't enough info in any of the reports I saw externally to 
convince me that this was NOT the case. Of course it's possible that some 
other thing has raised the general DNS load up and providers of DNS 
services now must capacity plan better??

Anyone running recursive resolvers with some trend graphs that show this 
as a spike 'now' as opposed to something like normal growth?

(our dns thingy isn't such that I would notice traffic to it so...)
