I am the Senior Network Operations Engineer for the Utah Education  
Network and have been here for over 8 years. I am in charge of  
monitoring, maintaining and managing well over 1500 network devices.  
One of the biggest components of my job is assuring network device  
standards and security at an Operations level. As our network  
continues to grow and technologies we use are more complex the  
security needs grow substantially. I refuse to run this network  
without defending our assets with secure communications. For these  
reasons I’d like to join this forum and get a better community  
following of current security recommendations and provide anything  
I’ve learned to the community as well.
