Datacenter Operations - The formal description
Lead the planning and implementation of new site deployment efforts
across Dyn production datacenters.
Develop a project plan template to track processes and timelines.
Assist the Operations staff with site refits and upgrades.
Plan efforts with key staff and stakeholders to ensure work is
planned/tracked appropriately and completed in a timely fashion.
Communicate the status of team efforts to management.
Manage all physical security and access to Dyn datacenters.
Work with operations staff to investigate and mitigate security threats
across systems and networks.
Act as the primary point of contact for third party service providers
such as hardware vendors, Internet service providers, datacenters, etc.
Organize and track all third party contracts (colocation, transit,
equipment support, etc). Report to management when contracts are coming
up for renewal.
Assist Operations and Legal in the negotiations of contracts.
Assist Operations with all levels of the equipment purchase and
procurement process, including order placement, tracking, receiving,
inventory, and disposal.
Track and report all expense information to the finance department.
Keep accurate records of equipment assets and power/network port
utilization. Help manage efforts to increase availability when site
resources run low.
Conduct a yearly equipment audit and update any associated records.
