But but...they say it's global :P And FYI Canadaland changes administrations from time to time and is also trying to reinvent this particular wheel albeit myself and some others are trying hard to at least steer it in new directions, with clear end goals as well as not duplicate efforts...time will tell how successful we'll be. (FWIW I also tried, unsuccessfully, to stop it citing duplication of effort)
Otherwise one of the more recent groups I'm aware of is a collaboration between MAWWG and Cablelabs - my org sent someone else to the recent MAAWG meeting in Toronto and I'm still unclear what was discussed but thus far what I know looks alot like these others wheels we're discussing - if anyone else here is more involved and can clarify that would be great. Ultimately I'm group agnostic and willing to put in effort for 'a' group that has clear and logical end goals.

And unsure if I missed it or not but which 'we're solving ddos' group is this we're talking about here if it's not a big secret? I know of another group or two that fit Chris' description from this year alone albeit maybe looking to ensure their org(s) stay relevant vs get the million bones from gov. I quite often push back on these folks but they all seem committed to their (non-existent) solution being THE solution and/or don't seem to understand how fragmenting the industry with people who don't know what they don't know is not a good thing.
Krista - it is this one (Philip Reiner). See, there are some really cool benefit being up North. You don’t get to mess with this after every change of administration.
