I am inclined to agree. Slack is pretty crucial these days and unless there is a "layer 7 only outages group" this seemed like the logical place to report the alerts.

Then again I don't own the distro so what do I know. What I will say is, I did find the notifications helpful today.

Explain that a bit more please?  From the about page
"outages-reporting that would apply to failures of major communications infrastructure components having significant traffic-carrying capacity,"

surely this applies more to slack than some voice service with 100 people on it.


Please remember, many list members have the main list on Loud Notify.

You know, its 2018.  If people don't know how to apply filters and event correlation, maybe they should consider a different field.

We've been seeing connectivity issues to Slack for the past few minutes
from 141.219/16 and whatever Verizon Wireless subnet our cellphones got
dumped in.

Basically it appears to the desktop client like we're not connected, mobile
client just says "Connecting..."

Anyone else?
