This was an apparent suicide bombing with no other parties and no ulterior motive as of yet. Just before the bomb went off, the RV was playing “Downtown” by Petula Clark, a song meant to inspire people feeling blue to “forget all your troubles, forget all your cares and go downtown, where all the lights are bright...”

According to the article, Warner lived in Nashville for decades and had a long stable career in IT doing alarms and security systems and related work. Neighbors described him as polite but also quiet and aloof with no obvious political leanings or religious convictions.

He was probably lonely and depressed for a really long time, and the isolation of COVID-19 finally got to him.

Depression is common in our line of work. Don’t be afraid to talk to a friend or a professional about it, especially in these trying times.

May 2021 be a better year.

Cheers,
Brad Chapman
