[Outages-discussion] Upstream DNS failure? Multiple sites and services not loading.

I found that www.9to5mac.com did not load this morning.  Others online say they can reach it. 

Then I looked at www.downdetector.com and saw spikes in reports for EA, AT&T, T-Mobile, Pokémon Go, and Metro (cellular).  

This widespread disruption points to a major backbone or DNS disruption somewhere.  Anyone else seeing odd behaviors this morning?
