Also, under the hood, there will be mismatches... one email thread on the main 

list, forking to any number of thread replies on the discussion list, and 

email clients as well as the generated archives will be littered with broken 

threads. Reading all of that during any substantial outage will be 

frustrating, to say the least.

    <p>I think anyone who intends to keep a thread on outages because

      they have additional <i>useful </i>information to add would know

      how to change to the To: line back to outages.  OTOH, this change

      stops all the chatter from folks just hitting reply on the main

      list without losing the information sent.</p>
