This is a fiber cut somewhere between Salem and Portland, Oregon.

The Transport NOC reported that 2 separate cables were cut. One of the
cables does not carry traffic.  The cable that does have traffic is an
88 count fiber.  A team is en route to retrieve replacement cable and
provided an ETA of 20:00 GMT. No ETR has been provided.

The Transport NOC reported that crews are proofing the conduit at this
time to ensure that new cable can be pulled though.  Restoration
efforts continue.

The splice crew has arrived onsite and is evaluating the damage at
this time.  The contractor was drilling and damaged the fiber that was
buried roughly 10 feet underground. No ETR has been provided.

The fiber cut has been located and was found to be caused by a
contractor drilling.  A splice crew has been engaged to dispatch and
is expected to arrive onsite at 17:00 GMT.
