Fwiw, charter had this a Friday or two ago I believe, in the LA area. All fiber and coax was being routed poorly and there was lots of packet loss.

Friday 11:50am until around 2am Saturday and it was fixed.

some of Charter's core gear in the area died and they are working with Cisco to get it replaced.  We're seeing packet loss because of saturation on their backhaul as they re-reroute traffic.  There's no ETR, but thousands of customers are currently affected so it's high priority.

Friends of mine in Sault Ste Marie, MI have been seeing this for a few
days now, off and on. I tried to assist in tracking it down with an
ingress mtr, but all of Charter's routers don't respond to ICMP echo, so
it's impossible for me to determine. Example for return path (CA -> MI)
