As you said, IPv6 for CM management, but I don't believe it's assigned to
the customer's own CPE.   The latest wave of firmware from a (large) eMTA
vendor we use has lots of IPv6 support added in for the mgmt of the CM and
the eMTA inside the CM.

docsis3.0 upgrades are being conducted, and from what i've heard from
some friends is that there is an ipv6 address assigned along with the
ipv4 address.  not sure if this is universal to their docsis3.0
upgrades, or still in limited testing.
