That's usually what we do. Today a customer approached us who is going
to be in a unique situation. The telephone poles feeding his location
are going to be torn down, and replacing the connection with underground
cabling is at their cost ($5k). We're going to serve his voice and data
needs with Wi-MAX, but this means zero ability to have an analog line
for fax.
This discussion seems to be focused around and ATA doing T.38, and we
have little experience with that. However T.38 for fax delivery to and
from servers works great.
