Alas, the devil is precisely in the details, not the broad examples.

I don't think the rest of the industry agrees with you.

As I said in my previous message, even in BGP, there is a de facto 
curation function performed by a relatively small number of Tier 1 
players. If one of them doesn't bless your prefix announcement, it's not 
circling the globe.
