Well, I was more thinking, would a Rural ILEC pay the large capital expense
to forklift to another on-premise solution when that solution stands a good
chance of getting EOL'd in the next few years too? That's got to be on
their minds, whether *any* of the legacy switch platforms / vendors even 1)
care about voice or 2) will support it indefinitely.
I suspect the economics of the industry are against this business model
(proprietary, on-premise switch, large capex) continuing.
But I want to know what everyone thinks. This turned into a great convo!
