Much better to use one of any number of existing products which use an analog phone line; and connect it back to an ATA located within the perimeter.</span></p>

<p>I have been using 2N for several years now. It is not cheap at all, but once you get it installed it works just great. It is a full IP phone, not just a speaker or an intercom. Mine also has video which you can watch on a video phone, such as GrandStream.<br /> I am not sure if it has WiFi, but I am using it with POE so it has a wire anyways.<br /> Some other great advantage is that it has an RFID sensor so the door can be opened with multiple unique cards or keyfobs.<br /> I think that you can also get it today with Bluetooth or NFC, which will make it even more convenient.</p>
<p>I would recommend it whole heatedly, and I am not affiliated with 2N.</p>
