As a rule Cisco only supports vlan on Fast-Ethernet controllers.
There may be some reason for this, like inadequate hardware
support on the vanilla 10mb/s interface. As a secondary issue,
there may be some platforms that do support Fast-Ethernet interfaces
but don't support dotq or isl.
As usual, this may differ from release to release, train to train,
only Cisco knows. 8-)
