>From my understanding (and according to CSCee20417), the AbbrDial is not
appearing due to configuration of SoftKey-templates, but due to
firmware. I doubt that it's possible to remove the button.

Instruct the users to ignore that softkey? :)

You can remove the softkey by copying the default softkey template and
then removing the AbbrDial softkey from the onhook state. Then assign
that new softkey template to the phones that you do not want to see the
AbbrDial softkey on.

Can I ask why you do not let your users access the CCMUser page and/or
speed dials?

4.1.2deployment

Does anyone know how to remove the "AbbrDial" softkey from the phones
when a user starts on-hook dialing? We are not currently using speed
dials and users have no access to the CCMuser pages (and even then we
will likely remove speed dial access). Having this option will simply
cause confusion.

Hope someone has found the answer! ;)
