Don't forget also that the publisher provides other things in addition to 
call routing.  Directories, the user interface, etc.  For directories we 
set up a DNS name that points to both the publisher and subscribers to 
that when the publisher fails the subscribers answer queries.

We did the "unplug the ethernet cable" too...  Or in our case both 
ethernet cables since we enabled teaming on our servers.
