[cisco-voip] Unity MWI after Exchange restart

Thanks Scott for bringing this to the group. We applied an Exchange
hotfix to our Exchanger servers last night and after we were done, Unity
seemed to work just fine. Since I was working from home, I had no way
to check the MWI. At 3:00 AM, based on event 1062, the MWI scheduled
sync started, but never saw a 1063 to indicated it ended. This morning,
I had to restart Unity and after starting, the MWI sync started, but it
took an hour to get through everyone's mailbox (570 mailboxes).
I'll save a few other posts regarding this subject in the event I have
to do this in the future. Thanks everyone.

Officially no service restart should be needed. UMR should see the
Exchange server go offline and come back. When it comes back UMR should
tell Notifier to re-register for mapi notifications.

Open Cisco Unity Tool Depot, expand Switch Integration Tools, double
click Telephone Integration Manager. Expand your integration and
highlight the Properties icon in the left hand window.
On the bottom of the right hand window is a check box with a description
of: MWI Resynchronization. Check the box and click the "Resynchronize
Now" box. You can set this up to resynch every night on some time
increment too.

Subject: [cisco-voip] Unity MWI after Exchange restart
I was just asked but I have forgotten the answer.
If you're running Unity UM and you reboot your Exchange server. The
MWI lights get screwed up, due to the logging in of the mailboxes by
unity. What service can you restart to get unity logged back into
the mailboxes so the MWI works again?
Thanks
Scott
