[cisco-voip] IPCCx 4.0 Silent monitoring/recording SPAN requirements

My understanding is that only IP phone agents require SPAN for the switch
ports and a sound card on the supervisor's PC to enable
monitoring/recording.

If you have the Desktop Agents (advanced, premium) spread across different
VLANs you don't need to setup SPAN sessions.

Subject: [cisco-voip] IPCCx 4.0 Silent monitoring/recording SPAN
requirements

Hello, reading the docs I think I'm out of luck but I wanted to check
with the group. With IPCC Express how does the VoIP Monitor service
filter? As far as I can tell from the docs, it is looking for packets
to/from the MAC address of the phone. So if all my calls pass through
one gateway local to the monitor server and I setup a span session to
mirror all traffic from the gateway port to the monitor sever, I still
cannot record calls to any phone that is not in the same vlan as the
voice gateway.

Does this sound right or (hopefully) does anyone have it where they can
monitor/record agent calls when the agents are spread across different
vlans or remote sites?

Thanks,

-Patrick
