[cisco-voip] 7961 & 7941: Registration Issue

I encountered a case where only the 7940s would register and not the 60s. It turned out that not all files were being served by the box.

That shouldn't matter, much, the phones should eventually time out and register anyway.

That's quite odd. It sounds like you're not serving all the proper files via TFTP.

Sorry, I actually noticed this
mis-configuration before the email. It seemed to have fixed the 7941 phone,
but not the 7961 phone.

Also the subnets are directly connected.

While we are at it, how
are you routing from your voice subnet, 192.168.2.0/24 to
your CCME, at 172.31.254.2?

There appears to be no routing set up on this router...

Ok, first off:

Your option 150 for DHCP:
option
150 ip 172.31.254.2
Which is your loopback.

Does NOT match the ip source address under telephony service ... 172.31.254.1 which is assigned
to your CUE.

Paste this in:

telephony-service
 ip source-address 172.31.254.2 port 2000
 create cnf-files
 reset all

That will fix it and reset all your phones

Jeff,

Do you have the loads for the 7941 and 7961
on the router?

telephony-service
 no auto-reg-ephone
 load 7941 SCCP41.8-3-3S
 load 7961 SCCP41.8-3-3S

do you have ephone's created with type of
7941 or 7961? Did you run "create cnf-files" under telephony-service
to generate the xml files it's looking for?

Seems to be stuck at 'Configuring IP'.

I can verify that's its getting all the proper DHCP/TFTP/CME
information….and it's a CME…..SCCP

What error are you seeing on the phone? Do you see
Configuring IP? Registration Rejected? Error DBConfig? Which?

Are the phones getting an IP address? Do they have a TFTP IP? Is
auto-registration enabled?

I'm
having the weirdest time trying to get two phones to register…one is a 7941 and
the other is a 7961. I have several other phones in my voice lab (7921,
7912, 7910, 7940) and all of those register fine.

I'm
not sure what I'm doing wrong…any chance anyone can maybe send me a scratch
(base configuration) so I can compare and see what I'm missing?
