[cisco-voip] Unity Connection with the Phone View feature

I checked the parameters and one of the URL's had 3 backslashes (\\\), changed it back to two and all is well.

Thanks for your help with this one.

All the best

Did you check the "URL authentication" under Enterprise Parameters in CUCM 6?
It should be set to:

http://<CallManager_IP_Address>:8080/ccmcip/authenticate.jsp<http://%3cCallManager_IP_Address%3e:8080/ccmcip/authenticate.jsp>

Hi Guys, I have got to the stage of installing the Unity Connection and enabled Phone View, but when I press key 5, and then 4 to display the message I get an error indication of "there was an error displaying your message see the administrator". I have a 7962 IP phone, I have all the users created and associated devices to the Application user, CTI Manager is working fine but it is not working.

If anyone knows what report I should be looking at within RTMT that would be a start...

I am running CUCM 6.1.2, and Unity Connection 2.1.2.1000-380.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

All the best

PhoneView refers to a few different features, including message locater and message monitor which one are you trying to get to work? It sounds like message monitor, which according to this feature comparison, is in Unity only at the moment, not UC:

UC does have message locater, though, but that comes in to play when browsing your messages while signed in.

Hi, did you guys resolve this as I am not seeing the phoneview prompt on my phone when call gets delivered to VM. I am using 7962G which is the newer release of 7961G so it should work, even thought not listed...?

I have followed all the recommendations set below and it still does not work...

One other thing - do you know if it works for Extension Mobility users?

Dave,

I have a very similar install running (same versions). I have it working on 7961Gs as well. Make sure that you have the "PhoneView" application user set up on the Communications Manager and that the credentials match between CUCM and Unity Connection. If these match, you also have to make sure that the "PhoneView" user on CUCM has all the required handsets set as Controlled Devices. Besides that, the only other setup is on Unity Connection, where under each user you have to enable Phone View (or set it up under the CoS). On a per-user basis, you set this up under the user -> Edit -> Phone Menu. You should see an option to Enable Phone View.

When I had the same issue as you it was because I had not set the phones as controlled devices under my "PhoneView" application user on CUCM. But, any of the above may cause this.

Hope this helps!

Hi Group -

Has anyone had success to get Phone View to work with Unity Connection? I am using UC version 2.0(1) with CallManager 6.1. Everything appears to work up to the point where it states, "Searching......there was a problem displaying messages on your phone, please contact your system administrator". I am using a 7961G, which the documentation states that this is a supported phone. Is there a special load needed? Any help is appreciated.

Dave
