[cisco-voip] GK trunk in CCM as backup

Sheeraz,

If you are sending calls to the GK's via dial-peers in an h323 GW and
not directly to a GK through CCM then create another dial-peer to the
second GK with a higher preference value (which gives that dial-peer a
lower priority).

I very well could be misunderstanding your setup, but as far as I can
think you would only be able to have a backup GK either via route groups
in a route list in CCM or multiple dial-peers with different
preferences. I'm sure there are others here than have much more GK
experience than I have.

Hope this helps.

Keith,

Thanks for the reply I checked your mail. I am not using the Rout
pattern for GK, route pattern contains the IP of GW which has different
IP address. In fact I am using GK for IPCC. In that scenario you still
advice to do this.

Sheeraz

Create the second trunk in CCM for the second gatekeeper and add it to
its own route group (assuming the first one is its own route group as
well). The route pattern for calls to the GK's should be pointing to a
route list that contains both route groups, one rg for each GK. If the
first GK goes down then CCM will send the calls to the second GK which
will be the second rg in the route list.

Hello every one,

I have a scenario 2 gatekeepers with different subnet mask are
configured and one is backup of another i.e. if first GK fails the
coming calls will start entertaining through the next one as they are
configured with precedence. Now I nee to know how this can be configure
on Call Manager 4.1. As I have a one GK trunk and it is associated with
first GK what how can I make the second GK trunk to work as backup.

Thanks
