do you want to POLL this device using an SNMP program, or
do you want to LOG SNMP from this device?
eg
snmp-server community public RO 50
snmp-server community private RW 50
snmp-server location server room
snmp-server contact admin at nsa.gov
snmp-server host 139.12.13.1 public
this config will allow SNMP polling using the 'public' and 'private'
community strings, but it will also log public SNMP events to 139.12.13.1
...in the same way, SNMP traps can also be sent... just type
>enable
#conf t
(config)#snmp-server host 1.2.3.4 ?
for more info!
