[cisco-voip] Historical Reporting Migration

Thanks for shown interest.. Yes I've read this before and I have it on my
mind, but. I'm not quite sure will it work. As Joris said 4x is very
different from 5 and it seems like there is nothing on cisco site about this
kind of data migration. Also I don't know exactly how to import the
historical reporting data in UPCCX 5. I found some commands for importing,
but I'm not quite sure. This is what chapter 13 from Cisco Customer Response
Solutions Administration Guide, Release 5.0(1) says:

You can import the data from these files into the historical database by
running

the osql command for all data files in the wfavvid\SQLData directory.

The syntax for the osql command is:

osql -E -S <server>\CRSSQL -i <datafilename>

Do you think that this would do the thing????? I'm hoping that someone would
try this before me, and let me know :)

Ratko.

First of all no simple solution, copy and paste won't work...

I had the same requirement when I upgraded from IPCCX 3.5 to 4.0. I
installed 4.0(5) HA on the two new servers and left the old server (3.5)
running for several months just for the Historical reporting. My clients
would connect to the old server if they needed the data before switching
over to 4.5. Since then, we decommissioned the server but I'm still keeping
the old mirrored disk and in case of an emergency (very remote possibility)
we could access the old data too.

Another option would be to export your historical 4.x data using the SQL
Server Enterprise Manager to an external DB server for reference.

Hi Ratko,

I don't think this is a real option: Upgrade from UCCX (ipcc express) 4.x to
5 is a new install and does not offer the possibility of migrating
historical data from 4.x to 5.
The database scheme is entirely different.
I heard some claims that it should be possible to extract the data from the
old SQL database and merge with the data in the new database, however this
process sounds not like an easy thing to do.

Hope this helps, I would be interested in hearing other opinions.

I've allredy set this topic but there were no replays, so sorry but I'll try
again....

This is my question, After I install *IPCC Express 5*, can I just copy
and paste
db_cra
db_cra_repository
FCRasSvr
DBs (I think this are the ones that contain Historical Reporting data) onto
new server? It's very important for my customer to have the historical
reporting data, and I'm

not quite sure how to migrate it.
I'm upgrading from *IPCC Express 4*
