Actually, the update-source command is only used as the source of the BGP TCP
connection .. versus the default egress interface address.

You would need to use the BGP subcommand "bgp router-id n.n.n.n" to statically
specify the IP address the BGP speaker should use for the router-id.
Dynamically, bgp router-id is determined as the highest ip address on the box,
or the loopback address. Loopback (highest loopback IP) is preferred in IOS
today when dynamically selecting BGO router-id.
