As relayed to me in private email by Abhay Roy from cisco, matching
prefixes in OSPF are choosen according to the following route types:

         intra-area first
         inter-area
         external last

If there are multiple prefixes in a given type, then routes are
differentiated by OSPF cost. If there are multiple prefixes with identical
costs, load is distributed over the prefixes.

Thanks to Abhay for clearing a mystery for me. Somehow, I had never come
across this aspect of OSPF.
