We're not having a problem *reaching* the LECS though -
it's just that it returns all zeros for the addresses
of the LES and BUS, as though the ELAN requested didn't
exist.
Apparently I was confused about the nature of the problem
though. It turns out that in fact the problem is not with
IOS 11.2(10)WA3(4) (which works fine), but with 12.0(1a)
5(5b) -- suggesting that it might well be an IOS buglet.
