My corporate masters are (not surprisingly) fond of using 7206VXRs as
media converters. If you have a PA-POS-OC3SMI or a PA-A3-OC3SMI
coming out the back end, you need somewhat more than a single faste
coming out of the uplink port of the switch that serves the
stack-o-servers. In this application, where we keep our expectations
conservative and don't try to push too much traffic down the pipe, the
PA-GE works just fine. The point is, it is this sort of application
that the PA-GE should be used for, not wire-speed bitpushing.
