I think the best answer is to try 12.0(13)S and see if it works for you.
Scanning the bug database shows a relatively large number of CEF related
bugs that are only fixed in 12.0(13) or 12.1(3)[ET] releases.

Maybe somebody at Cisco did some house cleaning or maybe it's just an
illusion, but there are bugs in earlier releases that may make your
life difficult try to use CEF on a 75xx router.

Some of these bugs are of the type where you can't get it to work
reliably at all, others where doing certain acts will make it fail
and other were everything is fine for a long time, and then it
stops working.

The usually symptom is 1-of-n packets being dropped !.!.!.!.!, but
it can get worse...

12.0(13)S has been out a while and no horror stories have surfaced,
which means there's a good chance that it's not a turkey. If you
don't care about CEF, then 12.0(7)S and 12.0(9)S were ok, and just
off the bleeding edge 12.0(11.3)S works.

Opinions and experiences may differ, after N-cycles of "maybe CEF
will work this time" it gets a bit wearying...
