Of course I have had broken cables, I guess I was thinking more about where
I would value UDLD, sorry. Most optical connections are rather less modular,
ie ST connectors and non-duplex SC connectors, so you have a greater likely
hood of one side of the connection being down. Where as I don't come across
one way connections on copper very often, more often there are at least CRCs
on both sides, and its just one connector on each side, so I just replace
it. Your right, I was thinking about where I would use it more.
