RE: [nsp] CISCO 4000 or 4000 M or 4500

This is most definitely a 4000 or a 4000M since it has a 68030
processor. The 4500 and 4700 have MIPS RISC processors, and the show
version reports that.

I'm not aware of a way to determine via software if it is a 4000 or a
4000M. If you crack open the router and take a look at the memory you
can determine if it is a M or not. The 4000 uses 30-pin SIMM's for main
memory. The 4000M uses 72-pin SIMM's for main memory.

Hope that helps.

David

Subject: [nsp] CISCO 4000 or 4000 M or 4500

I have a chassis of CISCO AXE
and I have no clue if this is a 4000 or 4000M or 4500
or similar.

I went trough the DOCS on CISCO site but could not find answer.
Can somebody help me with this? How to recognize the chassis?

If this can help:

cisco 4000 (68030) processor (revision 0xC0) with 8192K/4096K bytes of
memory.
