As I understand your message you speaking about CPU problem ? with 34Mbit
traffic. Or you want to implement IDS (IOS FW) to the system running 34Mbit
ceiling....

Yo, Wich NPE module you have?, Wich IOS? BGP, QoS implemeted?
Try :sh int atm 2/0 stat
ATM2/0
Switching path Pkts In Chars In Pkts Out Chars Out
               Processor 17594328 2599274205 14482240 1460471039
             Route cache 435507328 2924440973 421488579 1957961882
                   Total 453101656 1228747882 435970819 3418432921

What is the ratio between proc/fast switched packets?

Do you running CEF?

Alex

Subject: [nsp] IOS IDS at 34M ?

We are looking at using the IOS on one of our ATM PVC's which is
currently 34M running at 100%. Its a 7206 (not VXR) with 128Mb.

I am looking to hear anyones experience with these levels of traffic.
I get the feeling its nuts.

Regards,
Kevin
