        are you seeing any messages about tunnel and routing loop?

        if the "tunnel destination" turns out to resolve to a route
accessible via ospf/tunnel0 interface you will see the
behavior you describe.

        Typically what i've done to resolve this in the past is to
static route the "tunnel dest" address out of the network.
