Hello,
I need to move server from one office to another, but need to save it's IP
address. The configuration (one two routers) is:
Router in the previous office (where server was):
bridge irb
bridge 1 proto ieee
bridge 1 route ip
!
int Fa0/0.2
descr Server was there
encap isl 2
bridge-group 1
!
int ATM0/0.301
descr Link to new office
pvc 0/301
encap aal5snap
bridge-group 1
mtu 1500
!
int BVI 1
descr Rest (in the first office) servers
ip address x.x.x.x 255.255.255.224
and router in the second office (where server will be):
bridge 1 proto ieee
!
int Fa2/0.108
descr Server will be there
encap isl 108
bridge-group 1
!
int ATM1/0.301
descr Link to previous office
pvc 0/301
encap aal5snap
bridge-group 1
mtu 1500
Launch of this server in the new office was unsuccessfull - it doesn't
ping. First router show me:
Router-1#show bridge
Total of 300 station blocks, 289 free
Codes: P - permanent, S - self
Bridge Group 1:
Address Action Interface Age RX count TX count

0090.27a2.22d0 forward Fa0/0.2 0 5363521 4913652
interesting, that interface ATM0/0.301 doesn't take a part in the process.
And second router shows:
Router-2#sh bridge
Total of 300 station blocks, 299 free
Codes: P - permanent, S - self
Bridge Group 1:
Address Action Interface Age RX count TX count
0090.272f.84b5 forward ATM0/0.301 0 34 0
There isn't Fa2/0.108 in this result. What is cause? Where I'm wrong?
And another issue - is BVI always eats CPU resources so much?
Thank you.
