Yeah, I understand the binding of addresses to topological
location. The problem is that if I do this I therefore need
to renumber my hosts... If I renumber hosts then I need to
worry about changing DNS and carrying TCP connections over
to the new IP address, and changing any other bindings that
have been made to IP Addresses.
This brings me to the real point of this note :-)
To me, going into these issues is _way_ beyond what is
practical, given the deployed base. Basically, my opinion
is that any new architecture that changes hosts and DNS
and all that other "stuff" just won't fly. That is, we
(the routing research bunch) can not change DNS, can not
change the end hosts, etc.
