Hi ,
I had few question regarding Juniper CLI configuration.
As per the CoS document we can configure the
MF classification , policing in firewall filter hierarchy .
The firewall filter defined is associated to the appropriate
interface in
[edit interface] hierarchy.
Whereas, to configure the scheduling policy the "schedulars" is
defined
in [edit class of service] hierarchy and associated to the
interface in
[edit class of service interface] hierarchy.
Now the question is,
1)Why firewall filter statement is associated in [edit interface]
hierarchy and
schedulars in [edit class of service interface] hiearchy?
2) Since schedulars and policer are both an action(an action to be
performed based on whether
the traffic is inprofile or out of profile) is it not possible to
define schedulars in firewall filter as
it is done for policer.
3)How can we define conditions like source Ipaddress, port number
while configuring
the schedular.since schedular configuration does not have
provisions to specify this.
4)Does the "transmit-rate (rate | percent | reminder) <exact>"
command in schedular-name
define the bandwidth?
While configuring in Cisco CLI both scheduling and policing are
defined in the same
hiearchy(config-policymap-c) since both define an action(based on
traffic conforms or violates)
and associated to an interface in config interface mode.
Regards,
Arun
