The 8640B is a very clean generator and came in a few different versions.
 The output connector can either be a type "N", a BNC, or possibly even an
SO-239.  Do you not have the gear in-hand yet, or are you just unfamiliar
with the connector type that you see on the unit ?

BTW, I once used an 8640 as a 220 tx when I needed to notify a friend that
I would be working late in the lab. :-) This was before the advent of cell
phones.
