Heath DX40 Clix

Hello Everyone:

I have two Heath DX40 transmitters which work great  except for nasty
key clicks. The clix are severe enough that I was referred to as a
"vandal" the last time I used one of them on the air.  Imagine,
tearing up the band with 40 watts! Are there simple tricks or mods I can do
to correct the problem?
I would like to keep them as original as I can.
