Jeffrey:
The only thing for you to do is use oxygen free feedline cables which are a
maximum of 6 feet long to minimize the losses from your previously
signal-starved receiver! As a precaution, I'd recommend a minimum of 20
such individual cables to keep the losses to an acceptable level. I'm sure
that it will noticeably increase the fidelity of those S-1 signals which
are just at the noise level, and the psyco-acoustics will be greatly
enhanced. I would be prepared to pay top dollar if these cables were
available commercially...in fact, I think that Belden must surely have an
engineering team working on solving this problem now that it has been
scientifically verified as being a true problem for us SSB
operators....must surely make the signals sound like FM Broadcast Band
stations....I really look forward to hearing the reception results from
your 8 foot diameter culvert beverage antenna. I assume you are going to
have concrete pilings poured to support it...or maybe you should use fom
special insulating concrete for that critical job.....formulated with
cement free concrete maybe? Be sure to take some photos so they can be
posted on the FCC, NSA, and CIA websites for us all to view!
Loved the post Jeff!
regards to all,
Lee Smith,
