BA FD??

Fellow Glow-In-The-Dark-Enthusiasts:

(Hmmmm - that sounds like survivors of Chernobyl...)

A while back there was a thread on doing BA's for Field Day,
including the idea of a "separate" FD for BA's, separate date and
all - did anyhing ever come of a separate one, and if so, when and
where (frequencies)? Or do we continue to get set to take the
"real" stuff into the field on regular FD and smehow identify as
such?

FWIW, last year our club had an operation which included a
set-up at an area arts-and-crafts fair, held outdoors in a woods
(hilly country: foothills of the Appalachians here in Kentucky),
and I took along my Drake twins for a CW operation. We had two
other stations on (one packet, and one "standard" solid state
transceiver), and while the R-4B/T-4XB is certainly a lightweight
BA example, at last compared to my Viking II and Hallicrafters
or Hammarlund anything, I usually had the biggest "audience" around
me for both viewing the equipment ("What are all those little lights
inside?") and interested in the operation - CW, not voice.

forthcoming!]
