Strange Tubes Question

The 876 was originally used in th primary of the power transformer of an
EARLY RCA receiving set.     it is an "iron barretter " type of
regulator.  in that set the  filaments of the type '99 tubes were
supplied with voltage derived from the power tx  and very delicate..  the
set worked with a very large variation of line voltage.   sorry for the
band width.   jack
