Origin of the term "bug"?

Interestingly, I have been a ham and boatanchor fan for two whole years (Wow,
huh?) now, and it just this minute occurred to me to wonder and ask where the
term "bug" comes from as used to apply to a semi-automatic telegraph key. So,
who will tell me?
