Hi to all.
The recent thread reminds me of an incident in 1959. Had built a BC
transmitter using the 1610 Kc coils from an ARC-5 receiver. It had
four mixer inputs and a 6AQ5 output. Was at the University of Florida.
Had about 600 ft of wire out the window of the dorm with no grounding.
Used to play music and local news until one night there was a panty raid
at the girls dorm. I was out and one of my friends brocasted it.
Needless to say it was a near riot and the gear was confiscated. Never
went into broadcasting but had fun. Am retired as an RF design engineer
from the space program. Thanks and 73's.
