Flexible Flea rediscovered

I just picked up an old Electronics Illustrated Annual and there it was: The
Flexible Flea. I could feel the rusty synapses waking up -- yeah, I
remember that! And boy, did I want to build it! (Just a 6AK6 TX with
continuously variable power input from ~0 to 5W). I'm sure it wasn't the
specs that excited me, just the look of it. Same reason I wanted an Ameco
AC-1, and so many other goodies -- the looks. I also remember being
thrilled by what was probably my first transmitter article, the 6DQ6 rig in
the early '60s "How to Become a Radio Amateur".

So, for fun, what rigs (homebrew, commercial, kits) did you folks
desperately want way back when?

Mike, KK6GM
