8643 Dual Tetrode

I just got a Drake TC-2 transverter that uses a 8643 in the final.
Never heard of that one before and have no specs on it.  Strange as it
looks like a 5894.  Even stranger it has the same pinout.  Is this a
beefed up 5894?  Its supposed to load at 300ma and 650V.  Anybody have
any info?  Can I sub a 5894??
