Great idea, Mal.

I thiunk someone should create a SPOOF web page announcin this as
a new service proposed by the phone companies...

the 'new technology' should include high current 48v dc power with
special new high efficiency switching mode inverters that can produce 120v ac at
several kw to the average home.  a creative writer could come up with something
very convincing and scare the pants off the stupid power co. industry!!
