CAPS - IN OR OUT

There might be a few ways to look at this.
One person might be interested in "preserving a bit of history".
In this case he would want everything to be as original as
possible. Instead of repainting a case he would search around for
a unit with the best case, another with the best chassis, maybe
another with the best knobs until he could recreate the most
authentic looking unit as it might have been shipped from the
factory.
Another person might want to have the most authentic radio
experience. The aim would be to restore it as close to the
original specifications as possible this could mean replacement
parts, repainting the case to the original color, even if the paint
were not "authentic" etc. When this radio was switched on, the
experience of using it would come close to what the design
engineers had intended.
Finally, some might wish to compromise and do a bit of both.
