FIRST? SINGLE SIDEBAND

------the EC, RC and some KC-135 aircraft do have longwires, the probes do
not load below about 6.5 MHz. The KC-135 is capable of .91 mach, and we
don't seem to have much trouble with the longwire, never experienced a
failure in my 17 years on 135's, although C-130s sometimes break longwires
on assault landings. Hard to believe, but the only problem with longwires on
KC-135's is a resonance at pattern speeds that makes a racket in the
vicinity of the galley (where the coupler and mast are situated).
